I’m mad late to the game, but today I learned that Siza Mzimela – former South African Airways CEO – launched startup airline company Fly Blue Crane this September. The airline is a subsidiary of consulting firm Blue Crane Aviation, which Siza co-founded. She’s also the first woman to join the board of the International Air Transport Association (IATA), which is a pretty big damn deal.
Check out this interview from 2011 where Siza talks about the need for more female representation in the aviation industry, and the growth potential for African nations in aviation. Shout out to this audacious woman!
